The hardest working YA author in Saskatoon

Alison Lohans, YA/children’s author and one of the HSW Literary Agency’s most active clients, puts her seemingly boundless energy to the test this month at the When Words Collide conference. This literary marathon runs Friday, August 10 to Sunday, August 12, with Alison appearing at each day’s festivities.

  • On Friday, August 10 at 9:00 p.m., Alison joins Bundoran Press in suite 537 of Calgary’s Best Western Village Park Inn to launch Crossings, the second book in her Passage Through Time series.
  • The next morning–Saturday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m.–Alison is back in suite 537 to read from Crossings.
  • At 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 12, the Village Park’s Brentwood room hosts Alison for a panel discussion on the author-agent relationship.
  • Later that day, at 3:00 p.m., Alison is in the Charleswood room for a panel exploring the recent trend toward more explicit content in young adult books.
  • And finally, at 4:00 p.m., Alison heads to the hotel’s Collingwood room with fellow writer Carrie Mumford and editors Adrienne Kerr and Nancy Bell to assess first pages of attendees’ manuscripts.

After a couple weeks of well-deserved rest, Alison brings Picturing Alyssa (Dundurn Press 2011) to Saskatoon for a reading at Word on the Street.

Alison looks forward to seeing you there!
