Pop goes the word: Teri Vlassopoulos nominated for Lit POP Award for fiction!

Canadian writer Teri VlassopoulosFor many Canadians, the long weekend was the best thing about last week, but for Teri Vlassopoulos, we’re sure an award nomination trumps even a holiday! Vlassopoulos’ “Living Expenses”–a story about a young woman navigating the ups and down of adult life with her husband–is nominated for the 2013 Lit POP Award for short fiction. Congratulations, Teri!

Founded by Matrix Magazine and POP Montreal, the Lit POP Awards honour “writing that really pops.” The 2013 winners will be selected by Sheila Heti (fiction) and Eileen Myles (poetry).

This isn’t the first accolade for Vlassopoulos’ short fiction. Her first collection is the Danuta Gleed Literary Award- and ReLit Award-nominated Bats or Swallows (2010), available now from Invisible Publishing.
